Welcome

Welcome to the official website of the Associated Clubs of the Apprentice Boys of Derry.

The ABOD was "established for the purpose of Celebrating the Anniversaries of the Shutting of the Gates and the Relief of Derry, and thus handing down to posterity the famous events of the years 1688 and 1689, connected with this city."

Comming Up In 2008

With the summer approaching plans preparations are underway for our busiest period of the year. The new Museum and Exhibition is preparing for its second year open to the public. This will hopefully be accompanied by the launch of a new "Siege Heroes Trail", a guide to the City Walls. Also making a welcome return this year will be the Maiden City Festival. We will have more news on what form it will take later in the year.

In the online world, plans are underway for some major changes to the website. Most Noticeable will be a complete rebuild of the site. Until that happens we have tweaked the design of the current site to freshen it up a bit. There will be more information tied into the work being done offline in the Museum and Exhibition. Also expect to see a lot more video content on the site and big changes to the online broadcast of the Relief of Derry Celebrations.
